INSTALACION EN macOS Y WINDOWS

INSTALLATION ON macOS AND WINDOWS

1. Close Mixxx and connect the controller over USB.
2. Copy Vieta-DJ-Vega.midi.xml and Vieta-DJ-Vega-scripts.js together.
3. In Mixxx, open Preferences > Controllers > Open User Mapping Folder. Paste both files directly into that folder.
macOS: you can also open ~/Library/Application Support/Mixxx/controllers from Finder > Go > Go to Folder. Some installations use ~/Library/Containers/org.mixxx.mixxx/Data/Library/Application Support/Mixxx/controllers.
Windows: paste %LOCALAPPDATA%\Mixxx\controllers into the File Explorer address bar.
4. Open Mixxx. Under Preferences > Controllers, select the Vega MIDI port, choose "Vieta DJ Vega" under Load Mapping, check Enabled, and click Apply. If Mixxx lists a separate MIDI output, enable it to test the LEDs.
5. If the mapping is missing, close and reopen Preferences > Controllers or restart Mixxx. Check that the XML and JS have their original names and are in the same folder.

AUDIO

Under Preferences > Sound Hardware, assign Main and, if another stereo channel pair is available, Headphones. Check the actual sockets and channel pairs at low volume. A MIDI mapping cannot identify physical audio outputs.

QUICK START

- Show two decks. Focus the library, select a track with BROWSE, and load it with LOAD into a stopped deck.
- PLAY starts playback; CUE sets or returns to the cue point; the deck headphone button enables PFL monitoring.
- Test faders, EQ, filter, crossfader, SYNC, TEMPO, and jog wheels before a live set.
- To use all sampler pads, show 16 samplers and load samples manually.
- Hold MODE and press pad 1-8 to select HOT CUE, LOOP, STEMS, SAMPLER, JUMP, ROLL, SAVED LOOP, or FX. Release MODE before playing the pads.
- Use a three-band EQ with kill buttons and a filter Quick Effect. For FX mode, load and route effects in FX1 and FX2 manually; the pads do not load effects.
- STEMS uses EQ cuts; it does not separate vocals or instruments. HOT CUE and SAVED LOOP share positions 1-8.
- For every control and advanced settings, see LEEME.md in this folder.

TROUBLESHOOTING

- Device missing: check the USB cable and port and confirm the OS detects it. On Windows, install the manufacturer's driver if needed.
- Device listed but not responding: check the MIDI port, enabled mapping, and that the XML and JS are together.
- Controls work but no sound: check Main, Headphones, and volume.
- LEDs stay dark: check the MIDI output port. LED feedback still requires physical verification.
